Reasonable Person Standard: Legal Benchmark in HR Context

REASONABLE PERSON STANDARD

Reasonable Person Standard

The term in law used to assess whether an individual’s actions in particular contexts were reasonable or negligent is Reasonable Person Standard. A number of legal contexts, including tort law, criminal law, and contract law, use this term. An individual who acts with honesty, caution, and a sense of danger is known as a reasonable person. The reasonable person is an objective benchmark against which the behavior of individuals is measured in legal contexts.
